As a non-profit and non government organisation, Fibro & Us - Fibromyalgia Support Group Inc relies on sponsors, personal donations and educational grants to continue its patient assistance programs, awareness raising, and education initiatives. We raise all our own funds and we work very hard to do this. Everyone who contributes from the team is working for the well being of people living with Fibromyalgia on a voluntary basis, which often incurs personal costs too. Many of the volunteers themselves have Fibromyalgia and/or another chronic illness. Some are carers, family members and friends.
All donated moneys go directly towards the running costs of the support group. Our ongoing expenses include but are not limited to:
Insurance -Approx' $3000 p/a
Registrations and banking - Several hundred dollars p/a
Publication/printing of brochures, flyers etc - Approx' $400 per 1000 prints
Web-hosting, email etc - Approx' $1000 per year
Other general items such as stationery
We need approx' $7000 p/a just to keep running.
There are no grants on offer to cover the ongoing running costs of organisations like ours so we need to raise these funds ourselves. Your donation will go towards those running costs.
